I'm an artist (among other things) and I love these old school style cutting boards for a lot of reasons. They are the perfect cover for so many things. Whether you use them for art or place them in many areas, you need a little control; or for a loose laptop and iPad sleeve and pretty much any area that you want to look like you're really organized! which I am not. but it's really cool how many things you can use them for. I often take photos of the checks I want to cash on my phone. The dark background makes this often complex option very easy. Also when I move devices or stands that are relatively small but need a non-slip base. it really helps. And if you have a specific area on your desktop that is messy or not as good as the rest of your space. Just use some double sided tape and this computer desk will look professional again. So these mats are not very thick; but they are quite strong and not just flimsy rubber that has no integrity. It's not a small laptop desk either. These are really good cutting mats that self heal after being precisely cut with a sharp Exacto tool.
