Wrong and wrong screws. So after careful preparation and applying sealant, it turned out that more than half of the bolts were too long. Not only that, but the front anti-roll bar turns out to touch the lid, and on a '72 Jimmy with 44-inch tires, I don't think there's a way to adjust it without really extensive fabrication. After cleaning all the fresh seal I wasn't sure I could get it back or even thought I had it 99% back to normal. I decided to take a chance and grind down the cooling fins where the anti-roll bar hit. I also bought all the hardware new as it took me forever to grind the 1/4" screws to fit. So after all that it seems to fit. Currently it only touches the cover when I turn it all the way to the right but once I reinstall the new front stabilizer bar shocks it should hold the handlebars straight and it only goes 1/16-1-8" and that's all I need. Very disappointed that supposedly one of the best caps is sold with the wrong screws and will not fit without modification.
