I bought these flameless candles to use on our porch in our Christmas lantern. I got so used to the beautiful light from this decoration that when it was due to come in in January I bought these two lights from Target. These are the coolest candles ever! You can control it from inside with a small remote control and choose between a flickering candle flame or just light. You can adjust their brightness. The remote control is very smart: if you set a timer at a certain time of day for a period of hours, it will repeat the same cycle the next day and continue until you turn it off. Each candle requires 2 AA batteries which are not included with the candle. I don't know what kind of battery the remote has, but I think it's one of those little round ones. You won't regret buying these candles, I promise.
