This thermometer looks very cute and is easy to use. very cute, it looks good, it does the job and very easy to use. Just press a button to switch between F and C and another button to turn it on (or it will turn on automatically in water), and you can even change the high temperature alarm (between 99-100ºF). This is the first time I have submitted a review where Revain has asked me to rate additional factors such as: B. "How much fun is this toy?". I give it 5 stars because while it's not a toy, it's definitely fun. Speaking of educational value. It's a good thing these reviews don't match the product. Despite other reviews, the product is excellent. I think it's an easy 5 stars. 8/14/13 **EDIT** I still feel this is a great product and I would still give it a 5 star rating. 1) I've also used this to check air temp and it seems to measure VERY close (sometimes a degree off) to the much more expensive room thermometer I tested it with. I don't have anything else to check the water temp so I can't test it but I can't imagine it would be any different. 2) I found a point worth mentioning: you should try not to fully immerse this thermometer. in water. Although I didn't do it on purpose, I regularly let him float under a jet of water that filled the tub, pushing him underwater. The part of the thermometer in the middle is actually just pressed into the plastic crocodile/crocodile leather part on the outside. There is a small hole in the crocodile part that water will flow through when submerged in water (I believe the water pressure gets high enough to break the interference fit between the thermometer and the crocodile). It's not a big deal, but the water is difficult to get out (and doesn't evaporate really well due to such a small hole) and will cause the thermometer to float unevenly due to the water that's in it.
