Review on πŸŽ’ Kelty Riot Deep Teal Casual Daypack: Stylish and Functional Backpacks by Debbie Rossi

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent build quality, not suitable for tall people

Let me first say that I love this bag, I just wish it was made for a wider range of users. I'm 5ft 9in, 240lbs, I get it, I'm fat and fat people walk too. The sternum strap is adjustable and for that I give it a 10, even moving it all the way on the shoulder strap still sits almost on my throat, which is annoying. The main reason I bought this particular bag was the easy access to the hydration pack through the back, making it easy to refill or change hydration packs. I did a 15 mile hike with it with a 3 liter hydration pack, first aid kit, rain gear, gaiters, food, extra socks, battery pack, phone pouch etc etc and everything came together perfectly. It is NOT waterproof at ALL and doesn't have a rain cover, which is what you would expect at this price point. The shoulder straps are very light and airy and don't dig into your shoulders, but on a tall person like me they tend to flex rather than stay flat, which you can minimize by using a chest strap, but then you get it suffocated. For these reasons I gave him a four. Kelty, if you're reading this, please keep us (tall folks) in mind when designing your bags.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive
