Review on Salone Milano Permanent Color Cream by Rachel Smith

Great for hair dye in boxes

Hair dye in a box is never the same as in a salon. I've used many different products over the years and have occasionally agreed to do it myself. I usually use salon coloring products from my local Sally's store. For the price, this product did its job really well. I'm 46 and have very thin hair that I'm dying blonde. I prefer pale beige blonde which is hard to get on my hair outside of the salon. It will always be copper. This product did NOT turn my hair copper like all the other colors in the boxes. I had a dark base color band under the horn band from my last color flop and very light platinum ends. The color Il Salone unsuccessfully mixed the two darkest stripes. I wouldn't call it color correction, but it was as close as it gets. Today I put a purple Pravana mask on it and removed the roots from the copper rod that always appears. I think a few more washes with Matrix's So Silver will help, as will Il Salone Epic Shampoo and Glorious Conditioner. I don't use them every day, but if you're looking for a product that will 'reboot' your haircut and give you a shampooing and styling result close to a salon at home, Il Salone is perfect. It provides the "slip" that cuts my lengths by itself. Now I spend a lot less time styling because I don't have to iron all those unruly ends. It literally sealed them like so many other products it claims. IL SALONE REALLY MAKES IT. MY GOD. I wonder if all these people also argue with their stylist every time they go into the salon and they don't like the smell? (I don't like the products my salon uses. I solve this problem by WASHING my hair with my products when I get home.) Il Salone's scent doesn't linger any longer and I feel like it's great Hair is more than just trading it for something as mundane as a smell.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • too silly
