Review on Outdoor Ultralight Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds Headphones by Robert Wyble

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Comfortable wireless headphones

This is a pair of wireless headphones that work with phones and Bluetooth devices. The headphones connect to each other with a 21-inch cable. They weigh 14g and are powered by a battery built into the right earcup. To charge the battery, connect the earbuds to a USB charger using a standard USB cable (included). The controls and headphone mic are on a small strip on the cable just below the right earcup. With 3 buttons on the control bar, you can power on/off, volume up/down, play/pause/forward/backward, answer/hang up/mute/hold/redial/switch calls. The cable is equipped with a clip so you can use any pulling or bundling extra cables. It takes about 2 hours to charge the earbuds, providing about 5 hours of continuous use on a full charge, or 150 hours of standby time (about 6 days). The Bluetooth range is about 10 m. The headphones use Bluetooth version 4.0. The package includes 2 sizes of interchangeable nozzles. Foam ear pads and fins to help headphones stay in ears (medium and large), small cloth storage bag, 20-page paper. Manual and 2 stickers. I found these headphones quite comfortable to wear and quite intuitive to use. To pair them with your phone, press and hold the center control button until the LED under the right earcup flashes blue and red, then navigate to Bluetooth pairing on your phone and select Orcas. Once paired, the headphones are ready to use, whether music or phone calls. A nice feature of these earbuds is the voice prompt that confirms the controls when pressed. The fins are another useful feature as they help keep the buds in place without creating uncomfortable pressure. As for using the buttons to control my phone, it's a bit tricky as there are many combinations of long and short button presses that you need to use in order for all functions to work. You either have to practice something or carry a guide with you. Be aware that while these earbuds are labeled "Outdoor Tech" and say they're good for any activity, the manual still says the earbuds should be kept dry and away from direct sunlight or heat. I suppose they mean that buds are good for any dry activity. In fact, I've used mine for running in the rain and they work great. I find they work best if you charge them like a phone every night. The weird thing about these headphones is how they stick out of your ears, 3/4 inch. This may interfere with some headgear. My Panasonic wireless headphones have a much lower profile and don't stick out at all. In terms of sound quality, these headphones are suitable for listening to podcasts, books on cassettes or for making phone calls. They are also good for general exercise music. But for listening to music they wouldn't be my first choice as they don't deliver much bass. Overall these headphones are pretty easy to use and offer a convenient wireless way to listen to music or your phone.
