This place is in front of the closet. We bought this for my daughter's cats when she comes home from college. Since it's only been out of service for a few weeks, we didn't want to tie it to the wall with straps. We wanted to put it back in the closet and out of the way for guests to use the room. Unfortunately, cats easily knock him over by jumping on him. We need to put a weight bag/disk on the floor to keep it from tipping over. Since we won't be using it every day, it suits our needs. If we had to use it every day I would return it. I think if you strap it on it will still be wobbly and not strong unless you strap it on really tight and keep checking to make sure it doesn't come loose over time. I have a feeling there are other devices that are more durable than this one. But then again, since we don't use it every day but only a few weeks a year, it doesn't bother me. The size is good. Small and compact for what I want.
