I have several of these gates in the house and I really like them. When not in use, it can be retracted into the base. Easy to install and slides smoothly in and out of the main body to snap into place where you place the hooks. We'll use this for the hallway leading to the bathroom and laundry room. Although I don't know what I think of black. I can actually get through it without breaking loose, it just takes a bit of balance and tiptoeing talent. The fabric folds with you when you touch it, but can withstand a 1 year attempt to collide with it as long as it's screwed on well :)
