Review on X-Large Chilly Dog Red Cable Sweater for Dogs by Julie Phillips

I bought two of these for my two dogs. Very dense and warm for really cold weather. The model is made in the style of a thick knitted fisherman sweater. My dogs wear a sweater under a thin nylon raincoat because they walk around the bushes without a leash and the raincoat keeps the sweater from snagging. This sweater is thick and makes the outer shell tight so I probably should have bought a different style from the same manufacturer. So if it's a layer under a seat belt or other protective piece, consider whether the outer layer will work or whether you're better off choosing a different style of wool. Wool is a much better option than the nylon or polyester sweaters found at pet stores: it's warmer and more breathable. Handwork and sizing are inconsistent as my two same size sweaters were very different in actual size. Unless your dog is elderly or ill, this is definitely an outdoor cold-weather sweater (it was 19 and snowing when my dogs went for a walk in their sweaters this morning). I would not recommend using it in a heated home as you can overheat most dogs. Great product and unusual dog sweater made from 100% wool.
