This unit cannot be mounted so that the doors open in the opposite direction. I bought these to use as bedside tables to hide random things because I hate visual clutter. The problem is that the doors naturally open "left to right" and cannot be installed the other way around. This works well when placed on the right side of the bed, but doesn't work at all on the left side of the bed. The door does not open properly. I ended up turning the device upside down, leaving unfinished parts on top that I had to cover with cheap contact paper. Also, the "roof" magnets on the interior shelves are now on the "bottom" along with the raw wood side. Yes, that's only inside (not visible from the outside), but that's not an ideal solution at all. The door now stretches slightly when opening and closing because it was not designed for that use. If I knew that the door cannot be mounted on both sides, I would never have bought it. I guess I should have just gone to ikea, but I tried to match the color to some of the other items in the room (which ended up being an epic failure too). I'll keep them for the next two years until I move, but they definitely won't come with me. In addition, the corners seem to be very sharp. I could actually put them down pretty far just to be safe. Also, I ordered two and only one arrived at first. Revain offered to replace or refund the missing item. I took a replacement and they immediately sent a new one but in hindsight I should have just taken a refund and given another.
