I play bass at my church and they have Aviom in-ear monitoring systems. They have several pairs of SE315 single driver headphones and they aren't that bad, but they can sound a bit thin. My biggest annoyance was sharing monitors with other people, so I decided to get my own and upgrade to the next most powerful Shure model while I was at it. First, they won't hit your ears like Beats headphones do. These are very clear, detailed monitors. They have more bottom end than the SE315 models but are crystal clear and not mushy. I'd say more bass, but not necessarily boomy bass. I hear everything that happens on stage clearly and then it doesn't ring in my ears. In my opinion these are the best headphones the money can buy before moving on to custom models. For live monitoring of musical performances they are great to me. I play bass without a stage amp and with this I can hear the bass loud and clear. The SE315 has distortion at lower frequencies, but I don't feel it in my ears.
