Cracked before Apple installed screen protector

I bought this screen protector because it would take me weeks to get an appointment at my local Apple Store due to the pandemic. When I bought my phone five years ago, I bought whatever screen protector Apple sold and they installed it for me. This screen protector lasted the full five years and only started cracking after five years. I bought this screen protector along with my newest phone. It was very easy to install. I loved it! It installed on the first try. I've been wearing the protector for about three weeks and it already has a hairline crack. Now it's better if the protection has a crack than my actual screen, but I was disappointed that the protection didn't last longer.
