I took the size 3 times bigger even though I'm tall because I wanted it to be bigger. My problem was in the chest area. The pads were huge but I just cut them out. I washed and air dried several times to avoid damaging the fabric. In general I like it very much. But just size 1 bigger if you want it to be a little looser.
