I needed a cable to connect an AlphaSmart 3000 keyboard (remember it? It's a century old) to my new Mac. I use AlphaSmart to jot down quick notes when I don't want the glowing keyboard to disrupt my circadian rhythm, like when I'm typing notes in fencing class late at night. Also, it is very light so you can take it with you on long trips or hikes. Anyway, the cable the now-defunct company gave me so I could download text to my computer ends in a USB-B port, while my new Mac has a USB-C port. I thought I would never find a cable that would connect my dear old AlphaSmart directly to my Mac. I figured I'd need one of those clunky USB-C to USB-C cables. But I found it! I had to look closely at the photos to make sure the Plus was accurate, but I ordered it, it was cheap, it arrived the next day and when I tried to connect the two devices it worked perfectly. Relax!
