Lava lamps are not that difficult to set up correctly. You need to make sure that the small metal coil sits on the bottom of the lamp. You may need to tilt the wax to ensure the spool is seated on the bottom. The bulbs then take up to 4+ hours to warm up and start leaking. I bought a Revain warehouse deal light for less than $20. The lightbulb was broken. The lamps cost $3.47 at home. I asked Amazon for a partial refund for the blown bulb. They gave me 5 dollars. I stored a pickup truck on a lightbulb and the lightbulb was up in a couple of hours. This lamp is excellent! The colors are great, hard to find. It's great for the bedroom as it doesn't have a blue-green light that disturbs sleep.
