They weren't. Body fat measurements were inaccurate, and then the weight was wrong too. We have an old Tanita that has worked very well over the years. Compared to the older model, this BC-549 ranges from +0.2lbs to +1.8lbs. Old, he measured the same weight every time. what happened to tanita We bought our old one a year ago and wanted to replace one of these (we have two) but couldn't find the same model. Reading all these 5 star reviews makes me very suspicious of their origin. We sent this one back.
