Soft, durable and supportive in all the right places

I've been having terrible lower back pain lately - no doubt a sign of aging. As a programmer this was extremely problematic, so I was looking for a lumbar support pillow. I tried Duro-Med Relax-a-Bac, Lumbar Back Support Pillow with Insert and Belt for Spine Alignment and Back Pain Relief, Gray Color but found it oddly shaped, curvy and too firm. I'm 5ft 8in so maybe it was designed for a taller person. The Desk Jockey succeeds where Duro-Med failed. give in and push back where necessary. It basically did what I needed to do - act as a buffer between my back and the chair and sculpt the existing curvature of my spine. I suspect some of the other stiffer pads are trying to increase the curvature, which I don't think works that well and is likely different for each person. Of course, I'm not a doctor, so take that with a grain of salt. However, within a week or two of using it, I was feeling much better. It's hard to imagine how you can sit at your desk for hours without this thing. A table jockey indeed! The pillowcase has a soft texture reminiscent of microfiber. There is a zipper on the back so the cover can be removed for washing. It uses a plastic strap/buckle to attach the back of the chair, which is NOT adjustable. H However, it includes an adjustable extension. So there's a bit of a conundrum here - the standard buckle is too long if you're using it on, say, a kitchen chair with little to no backrest, and an extension, even the longest, might be too short for a very thick office. chairs. It would be nice if the standard buckle was also adjustable. At the very least, these buckles are fairly standard, so you should be able to purchase additional extensions from Michael or elsewhere if needed.
