Definitely runs small

It's okay, the material is a bit weird and the skirt is very long compared to her other swimsuits, but she likes it. My daughter is 39 inches tall and weighs 34 pounds. She wears 3T in most things but 4T in shirts because her torso is a bit long. This lion is STRETCHED to fit her. It's a bit tight at the top and the bottom definitely pinches her ass lol I'll keep them because she loves them and we have the latest rainbow mermaid but any other ones I get I'll definitely be up to a size 5/6
