Read the update below - very heavy - which could be good - great color overall but 2 big issues

Update to review: I just used the 2nd spool and it was worse than the 1st (see . rice. ). While the 1st spool had 1 tap where 2 strands were tied together, the 2nd spool had 5 so far (I did about 4/5 with the spool). 3 places were places where the strands were tied together and the other two were "glued" segments with sticky "balls of thread" (see image again). To be honest I don't recommend this to anyone and had to downgrade from 3 to 1 star because the whole reel is useless with all the bindings (not to mention thickness issues as seen in the photos). I ordered natural color and it is really beautiful. versatile, neutral etc. so the color is great! BUT for 2 big problems - firstly there is a HUGE difference in thickness. I have some parts of the cord that are almost 50% thinner than other parts of the cord. This works for my fringe work where the ends are hanging loose, but it's really tricky when I'm working on areas that cover the main fabric as some areas are well covered and others are too thin. Maybe it will stretch and get better as the stiffness goes away, but it shouldn't be something I have to wait for. The second problem is that the coil had segments tied across the whole coil. I wound the spool from 25% to 33% and encountered the first (and hopefully ONLY) knot tying the segments of thread together. That meant I had to stop what I was doing. Cut and bind your work, then rethread and continue work. If I was the focus of my work, this would be an OBVIOUS shortcoming of the work. No one buys a 200 foot spool of thread/rope/rope or whatever when they are actually shorter lengths tied together to make 200 feet! BIG foul! The cable is so stiff that it is difficult to work with. I need to tie some knots in my bangs and I'm worried that the stiffness won't let me tie a tight knot. But it makes threading the needle I use MUCH easier. So it depends on what you need to use it for. Anything thin or narrow will require a change in fabric before you use it. I can't get my project wet otherwise I would try to get the string wet while using it. Who knows, but be aware. Also, although #10 says 0.5mm thick, it seems thinner than I expected. Again, maybe as the string softens, it flattens out and fills in the gaps, but I have a feeling it's small. Fortunately, none of this kills my project yet, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed (which only makes my project harder, but that's my fault)!

Pros
  • Excellent overall
Cons
  • Doubt
