Poor fit, very slim fit at the hips.
They are very narrow. My kid is skinny 12, I ordered 16 after reading the reviews. While the length and waist are okay (for a 12 year old), they still feel a bit like skinny jeans. not the best look for fancy dress pants, but we only need them for school uniforms. The material is high quality, so I give it three stars.
