Review on 🎸 JOYO JW-03 2.4GHz Wireless Guitar System - 4 Channel Transmitter Receiver with Rechargeable Lithium Battery for Electric Guitar Bass and Audio Instruments by Trisha Phillips

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Throw away the cable! It's 2021 man!

I'm a fairly new guitarist (started during quarantine) but quickly got into the habit of buying a guitar! One thing I've learned is that not all cables are created equal, and I've always found myself more frustrated with poor cable connections, hum, disconnects, and the occasional cable failure (almost avoiding disaster). I decided to try these newfangled wireless transmitters. I first bought the Ammoon brand (also from Revain) but they seemed cheap to me so I decided to give JOYO a try. This system is just better built, with a tighter design feel. JOYO is a better known brand and the quality shows. They're a bit smaller and the loop is nice and tight so the transmitter doesn't dangle or bang on your ax while playing (an issue I've had with Ammoons). I've tried them on several of my guitars and amps and each has a consistently good tone. (I've included photos so you can see that these things are pretty versatile for different setups.) Well packaged, they arrived in less than 36 hours using Prime, so I was very happy to receive them straight away! They came with a small fee so I could start jamming right away. Charging was easy though and I played them for several hours on a single charge so I can't imagine they wouldn't work for the duration of a gig. Range is good, with a slight, barely noticeable lag (wife said she can't hear it) when I took the guitar to another room of the house with the door closed. Great props for high quality workmanship, easy pairing, fast charging and long battery life. I complain that it seems that one block is a dedicated transmitter (in the guitar) and the other is a receiver (in the amp) and they aren't enabled. It may have to do with how you "pair" the devices, but I just swapped them out and they worked fine. So go ahead, get rid of the cable! You will feel so free!

Pros
  • Clear Transmission Quality - 2.4GHz band is optimal for wireless guitar systems, low noise, low latency (less than 5ms), no interference, transmission distance over 20 meters.
Cons
  • I won't say anything
