Completely useless. That's the problem. I bought this because I have a newest iPhone with a lightning connector and no 3.5 mic jack. As advertised, this should have just plugged into my lightning socket and worked. It's not like this. For an iPhone with a Lightning connector to work with an external microphone, you'll need a 3.5mm microphone, then buy an adapter with a 3.5mm jack and a Lightning connector on the other end. You connect the microphone to the adapter and connect the flash to the phone. So a microphone with a Lightning connector is completely useless.
