This socket solved a problem in our garage. We needed a main outlet and a slave in series to be able to handle up to a 20 amp surge of electricity from our garage fridge and freestanding freezer. We've only had issues with sudden power surges in a fridge, which caused the 15A fuse socket to trip quite often. This 20 amp outlet, along with its 20 amp slave, "fixed the bug"! Bought more commercial 20 amp outlets to replace the remaining outlets in the basement.
