This globe is larger and heavier than you might expect. Looks spectacular on the countertop and visible from afar. The processing quality of the glass ball is excellent. The build quality of the train is pretty good, but not perfect as everything is plastic. Although the train is made of plastic, the finish makes it strikingly like polished metal. The quality of the plastic is good, but if you drop it, it will most likely break. The best thing about this globe is that the snowflakes automatically move around the globe and have an iridescent mirror-like reflective surface. Shaking is not necessary. The interior lights do their job well, illuminating all the snowflakes. - There are 2 settings - Timer and Music. Both settings will pump snowflakes around the globe. The timer setting is mute. The music setting is too loud and annoying and I'll probably never use it. I wish there was a volume control or a nicer sounding speaker. All in all a very nice piece of jewelery at a reasonable price. If it were metal, it would be a relic. Just don't expect to use the music setting because of a bad speaker.
