**UPDATED REVIEW! **My NEW comments: 1) It actually looks better than the photos! It looks and feels like a small cube shaped piece of furniture. The lid fits well. The stitching and button closure add a touch of class. 2) The color is different from the photo as I suspected. It's actually a beautiful, rich, VERY dark chocolate brown that complements my decor (and sofa!) perfectly. I even bought a larger, rectangular offshoot of it to use as a storage bench. 3) You can pack a lot of things in this thing! I personally use it as a filing cabinet and ottoman. The height is such that you can store files and notebooks upright, so perfect if your living room fits your office or you need a stool with storage. 4) Okay, I've read the odor warnings. I figured that would mean it would have a light "new shower curtain" from yesterday. I was wrong. Wow, this stuff worked when I first got it, to the point where I had a slight headache, but I'm sensitive to strong smells. And for the first two weeks, I didn't want any objects around me. 5) UPDATE: THE SMELL HAS GONE COMPLETELY GONE and I've changed my rating of the ottoman to 5 stars. I'm glad that didn't stop me from buying this product and I urge you not to stop, especially if you're not that sensitive to the smell of "new vinyl"! The quality is excellent for the price!
