This is a luxurious razor but at the same time an amazing piece of craftsmanship. It has no springs that wear out. It's not adjustable (you'll end up with an adjustment anyway), so choose your favorite blade for best results. Shaving so easy even a beginner can't go wrong. Crafted from solid brass, hand polished and triple plated with copper, nickel and blue white chrome, it shows - no other razor brand compares to Edwin Jagger's finish. The entire razor is the "blue chrome" process used on Rolls Royce, which is very distinctive compared to regular chrome. The linear pattern on the grip provides enough tactile friction to prevent slipping when wet. This is a beautiful safety razor, impressively heavy (4.2oz/114g on my digital scale) with good balance. The simple cutting action is similar to that of an open-blade razor, but with a protective straight bar to prevent scratches and cuts. I don't suffer from the razor burn and pimples that I had with my last standard 5 blade razor. With this convex lined razor you compare every other razor you buy.
