Review on GUNNAR Gaming and Computer Glasses: Riot, Onyx, and Amber Tint - Blocking 65% Blue Light for Enhanced Performance by David Jones

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Hard grade but still has a slight yellow cast and does not hold up to enlargement

Tint "Transparent": As a graphic designer I needed blue light blocking glasses as clear as possible. . After a lot of research, Gunnar has developed into a star brand for blue light protection glasses. I have a "clear" tint that blocks 35% of the main blue light, which is the most damaging, but I wasn't aware that Gunnar had another line of "crystal" lenses that blocked 10% and were almost completely clear. Note that "clear" Gunnar lenses, although appearing almost transparent to the viewer, have a slight yellow cast to the wearer when looking through them at a computer screen. Zoom: The other part I couldn't handle was the zoom. The glasses have a slight magnification to reduce eye strain but that just made me dizzy. After speaking to my optometrist, I was told that I should not have magnification for my vision. Ask your optician what is best for your eyes. Frames: In terms of looks, Riot frames are pretty standard thick black plastic frames. So if you like this look, this will suit you. There are no nanos. Conclusion: Gunnar is a solid brand for blue light blocking glasses. The "clear" tint is not as clear as their "crystal" lenses. I didn't like the increase. In the end, I settled on the HyperX gaming glasses because they were the clearest without magnification.
