Beautiful pattern

Hello, my name is Katherine and I have LOTS of stencils. (Well, my "sponsor" wants me to own too many art supplies in general, but for the purposes of this review we'll just stick with the stencil category.) ;) It's the same quality that Time Holtz, Anonymous, and Ranger stamps are known for. The Mylar stencil material is the ideal thickness: the stencil is strong, the design is fully cut out and thick enough to apply modeling paste (or any other texture) very easily. It's strong, as strong as a stencil can be that has more negative space than positive space. I've always had problems with stencils made out of cheap mylar - small parts of the design (hanging or protruding parts) will always bend or allow the material you're working with to get under the stencil. This doesn't happen with the Tim Holtz stencils I use, and there were no problems at all with this stencil in particular. You'll have to be a lot more patient and careful than me when cleaning your stencils or you'll end up with little bent pieces like mine. I love this image - it can be used with bright colors to create a background image or it can be much bolder and really stand alone as the main image. Cleaned easily and quickly. Holds up well - image is as clear 92nd time as first time - Mylar plastic does not degrade. I haven't found any art supplies that don't work well with them - besides using them to add texture, I like to paint in voids with markers or watercolor pencils, then peel off the stencil and spritz lightly with water. The initial design is still vibrant, but (if you use either warm or cool colors instead of both) you end up with nice exiting colors that add volume to your project in a very different way than using a 3D texture). I can't imagine the stencil trend slowing down anytime soon, making them a great investment with truly endless uses. Making art is fun when quality materials are used - and it's perfect for this category!
