This dress is beautiful and the detachable headband that is included is a great feature BUT the quality is not what I was hoping for and neither is the length. let me explain. Unbeknownst to me, I ordered this dress for one of my girls, and my mother ordered the same dress in a different size and color for my other girl. My 8 year old is a size 7/8 as per the instructions in ascending order. The bodice fits well overall, with a breather. But the dress didn't reach to the floor which I expected and looks as it should, like a prom dress with crinoline. It hit her just above the ankle and she is of average height. I ordered a size 10 for my almost 10 year old who is above average height but not great. The dress had a small hole at the top, but you couldn't tell when the bow was tied at the back. It's a growing space. However, the dress barely went below the knees. As a hoop dress, it looked extremely awkward and disappointing when a ball gown was expected. Also, the central waste flower fell off and could not be reattached. He took it to my mother, a seamstress, and she couldn't figure out how it was sewn on. The beadwork was also loose on both dresses. Unfortunately from a distance they are beautiful dresses and look exactly like the picture. just not on a real baby.
