Review on πŸ“» FM Bandstop Filter v2 (FM Notch Filter) - Flamingo+ FM - Enhancing Software Defined Radio (RTL-SDR) Applications by Blocking Interfering 88-108MHz Frequencies from SMA-Connected Radios by Bill Russett

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It appears to do what it was designed to do

I have Received this because I saw a lot of harmonic interference from VHF radio when scanning with my SDR. I scanned and saw a strange signal at high frequencies so tuned in and. Hey, that's the harmonica from one of the big radio stations. I'm pretty far from towers so I didn't really think I'd need it, but apparently I do. The overtones are definitely reduced and the original frequencies are still somewhat in tune, although I don't normally use my SDR. to listen to FM radio. I was able to turn on some shows that were previously muted, so I'm very happy with that. No technical measurements really, just anecdotal. I really need to do before/after I'm on a noisy frequency, then add this filter and see how much attenuation it does. I can do this later and then add a real #. But otherwise I'm very happy with it.

Pros
  • Flamingo+ FM (Flamingo FM v2) is a high-attenuation band-reject filter designed to prevent overloading of very strong FM broadcasts and other problems with your radio or SDR
Cons
  • Long wait
