I think the idea of adding an extra louver to the dash where it doesn't block the vents, the existing storage compartment or the view of the windshield is brilliant. Unfortunately, the parts collection is not very well integrated. The mount attaches easily to the torpedo, but the gap between the flat base of the mounts and the slanted torpedo affects the look and stability. Vibrates a lot without modification. Additionally, the latch that secures the phone holder to the stem is too large to hold the stem in place, causing the bracket to slide down until the phone rests on the radio bezel and the screen is visible from the driver's seat. Finally, the phone mount holds the phone securely but requires two hands to attach the phone to it when mounted vertically. Pretty impractical and totally unnecessary. There are many designs of holders that allow you to work with one hand. Someone mentioned a ram mount and I probably will too. After all the security mods and adding a better phone holder, $40 is a lot for two mounts and a pole. However, if you're mechanical enough to figure out the best way to fasten ill-fitting parts, I think the smart approach with this fastening is well worth the cost and effort. I look forward to adding more things to the bar.
