Review on 🔆 Westek SLC5BCW 4 White Light Control: Illuminate Your Space with Precision by Adam Gambel

I've had every cheap dusk-to-dawn light control you could think of. They usually don't work at all, dim the light to an unacceptable level, or don't work properly with fluorescent lights. After reading countless reviews on many different products, I ordered this one. Mind you, my application is a bit different than most. Instead of an obscene or fluorescent lamp, I use an LED lamp.[.]These lamps are VERY bright and have a much whiter light and use less electricity. The only problem with them is that they don't like low voltage. So the management from dusk to dawn must have been good. Luckily for me, this worked in my favor and the eye looks close enough to the sunlit area to function properly. An adjustable eye would have given this item 5 stars. It should also be considered how much space the controller will take up and how this will affect the lamp installation. Mine is mounted in a pendant light on the roof, so that wasn't a problem either. Testing: It took a while for the light to come on and I wanted to test if the voltage ramps up slowly or if it turns on instantly. Since this is for a fluorescent light, this should be more instantaneous than adding voltage slowly as there is less light hitting the sensor that is normally sold. This is because LED and fluorescent lamps are destroyed quite quickly as a result. I have to sit outside on one of those evenings and watch the light come on to see it come on and update this review. Conclusion: so far, so good. It turns on when it's dark, not when it's light. There is no visible dimming or loss of brightness with my LED lamp. Let's see how long the controller and my LED bulb last. If you're going to switch to energy-efficient LED bulbs, I highly recommend this combination. You don't have the problem of toxic mercury fumes like with a fluorescent lamp. In fact, I've replaced almost ALL of my light bulbs with LEDs, including indoor, outdoor and even my old landscape lighting, which has not only made them even more energy efficient but also made them a lot whiter.
