I've been using this keyboard and mouse combo every day for over five years (including now) and I have to do say this is one of the BEST purchases I have ever made. It falls on hard wooden floors (not recommended) and I'm not exactly soft when I'm typing, but it survived any punishment I accidentally inflicted and continues to work. The only problem I had was when the battery in the mouse died, but that is very rare and I saw the warning signs at this point. With daily use of an AA battery, that will last me about a year. I change the mouse's battery (also AA) more frequently, but that's partly because I don't turn it off (it has an on/off switch) and it sometimes ends up on its side, shortening its lifespan. After about 4.5 years my left shift key started to get stuck, but a quick cleaning fixed it. GREAT product at a GREAT price. Absolutely no complaints! If this set ever goes bad I will come back for another one. Everyone should be using wireless with their keyboard and mouse - you'll be very glad you did. UPDATE: After 7 ½ years, the scroll wheel on the mouse finally came loose, which made the mouse almost unusable for me despite using this function. Actually I've since fixed it, but I'm more confident fixing dead junk than what I need to use. I've looked at all the options available since I first bought this item and I really don't need to explore it. I was happy to order the domestic again, but unfortunately it is not the same model at all. The keyboard layout is different, the scroll wheel sometimes had a mind of its own, and the keyboard often skipped characters and lagged.
