This is a great and economical juicer. This is an excellent option if you're interested in juicing but not sure if you want to devote yourself to full-time. The juicer is very easy to assemble and disassemble and cleaning is usually easy, even if it takes a little getting used to. After juicing, the plastic parts are simply washed off. Inside the juicer is a metal mesh basket that needs a little more attention. You actually have to brush it with the included brush to remove any particles stuck in the mesh. Failure to keep the strainer clean will affect the juicer's performance. At the bottom of the strainer basket are tiny blades that spin very quickly, shredding whatever you push out. You feed your fruit and veg through a vertical tube onto the chopping blades. The crushed particles move into the basket where centrifugal force squeezes out the juice. The pulp is then ejected into an attached container and the juice is extracted into another. Quite easy. This thing is not tiny. Slightly larger than a full-sized food processor, this isn't a kitchen tool you have to clean up every time you use it, especially if you're juicing all the time. Be prepared to designate a place for the counter and a suitable work area around it. There are more efficient juicers out there, but not at this price point. The package we received looked like a brand new juicer. There was absolutely no indication that this was a renovated unit and we had no issues with it. In fact, its use doesn't require much training, but there is a learning curve for decent juice recipes. Go to the store every few days to buy fresh produce. We stocked up for a week and subsequently had to throw out some of the spoiled food before using it, especially if you use organic. Juice tastes much better when the ingredients are fresh anyway.
