We have a 5.5 month old Old English Bulldog who attacked and tore his expensive styrofoam pad a few weeks ago. She chews and tends to chew things up, so we decided to buy her a textured Nylabone Dura Chew, bacon-flavored bone (works!) and just include a dog blanket with her. But as she grows and stays in her cage for a few hours, she needs something to soften the bottom of her "den". I saw this seal and decided to buy it because the price wasn't prohibitive and we hoped she wouldn't climb for a seal with her nylabone. Well, two days and three nights have passed and she's still whole! In fact, she looks *very* happy with her new cage food and I don't see her choosing the food at the moment. I would definitely recommend long lasting gum if your dog likes to chew. This will help distract them from the mat (and anything else!) within reach.
