Review on πŸ“± Tech Armor Anti-Glare Anti-Fingerprint Screen Protector by Bob Ramthun

Thick matte finish

The protective film is made from a thicker PET film than what you typically see in cases (a version that can easily be rolled, crumpled or folded if you're not careful). This one is probably as thick and hard as five bonds. The thick substance helps avoid the formation of bubbles after application. Therefore, annoying dust (after all that cleaning and wiping) may be the sole cause of the blistering. (Just hope the dust is on the outside so you can gently peel the protective film off the edges and remove a speck of dirt with regular tape). It comes without protective film on the non-adhesive part. . Since the surface is matt, the manufacturer probably considers the risk of scratches during application to be negligible. Lo and behold, after I installed the screen protector and slipped the iPad into the tight orange I-Blason case, I scratched the screen near one corner with my fingernail. Scratches could have been avoided if there had been a protective film on the front. But in any case, this is the result of my inattention, my fault, so I'm not complaining. The wide scratch mark was annoying at first, but over time I got used to it. However, three months later, when we intentionally hid the iPad charger from my daughter (too much playtime), she grabbed a pen and frantically wrote on an uncharged iPad. Result: 4 deep, long scratches and the film has lost its tack (torn) in the middle. Now I need to use the second sheet (will use this weekend). By the way, I bought the matte because a friend recommended that it would make the iPad more readable. I confirm this; Since then I've completed 2 Kindle books on the iPad. But you lose some of the sharpness of the Retina display, so that's a tradeoff.
