I ordered four of these packs for an upcoming family hiking trip. We haven't used them yet, but I think they'll work well! The straps are adjustable, so they fit everyone in my family from my petite 10-yr-old daughter to my husband with a 36" waist. I have noticed, though, that the straps seem to loosen up and need to be tightened often. Also, they tend to get weighed down once a water bottle is put in place. Rather than using heavier refillable water bottles (as pictures), we'll probably use smaller smaller plastic bottles from the store.
