There are a few things that I really like about this product. It is very soft, especially in the light gray hood area! It feels fantastic on the skin. I like that it's long enough to tuck under the front of the coat zipper without having to unzip it during activity. I also appreciate the convenience of being able to pull the face mask up or down and adjust it with the cord tensioning system. It's a lot easier than unwrapping and rewrapping a scarf, depending on how comfortable you feel. I live where the winter weather is often below zero. Lately it has fluctuated between zero and 20 degrees. When I wear a balaclava, it keeps my face warm. The hood is a bit loose in very cold weather because I find that the edges of my forehead and ears feel cold when I take them off and my neck and face are warm. I want this to be able to breathe if the weather were a little warmer than now. I was able to tighten the hood a bit by tucking it into the drawstrings on each side, but as I turned my head from side to side it came undone. I washed the balaclava in cold water and dried it on low heat. It retained its very soft feel and didn't seem to shrink too much. This would be a great option for shoveling snow or going for a quick walk instead of wearing a stocking hat and scarf!
