Please ignore that the photos are in the garage. We bought this for a 9 month old to play outside and keep in the garage. First, I wouldn't call it portable. Maybe in the sense that it's light and easy to move. However, the assembly and disassembly requires a lot of work and a little patience. Nothing you really want to do on the go. So far I have collected several of these sealed game pegs, small and very large. I liked that this one has a little plastic button over the buttons to avoid hurting your fingers trying to take it apart. I ended up having real trouble, as I have with several pressure joint designs, fitting the final pieces while you're struggling with the pressure of all the other joints just to get into the connector. The connectors have small cutouts to make this easier so you can slide in the tube from the top and plug it in. The zipper part of the collar is a little difficult to close after assembly because the fabric is very tight. I had to pull hard all the time to fully open the zipper. It's best to start assembly from this side and work your way around. When disassembling, I suggest starting here. Unpack and go. Also note that no lining is included. You may need to get your own. The pen is 47x47 and most of the ones I've seen are either too small or too big. If you need padding underneath, lay it out on a rug, or maybe take foam mats and cut them to size. We'll be using ours on the lawn, so don't worry too much. In general, that's good. Be patient and a little strength to assemble. Once disassembled and after reassembly decided not to disassemble again. It is simply folded against the wall in the garage. Ideal for moving around the house or outdoors, not recommended for travel.
