I ordered medium which barely fits a 9.5 lb cat. He could turn well, but mostly looked battered. I liked the overall look and the shoulder strap which allows me to be hands free when filling out paperwork at the vet and also allows him to stay high up next to his human rather than lying on the floor in a rigid stretcher. The mesh bottle holder on the side is great for storing documents and small items. This cat really dislikes car rides and portage and tries to mess around with containment. Although the outside of this stretcher is made of durable canvas-like material, it has a nylon lining that is easily torn to pieces by cat claws. When my cat angrily pressed against the sides of this stretcher in the car, she managed to squeeze hard enough to start opening... and then he was able to stick his head out and open it wide. After this happened a few times and I couldn't "lock" the zippers, I figured it wouldn't work for my active guy, so I had to get a hard bag with a latch instead. So if you have a small dog or cat that likes to carry around a carrier, this could be a great option for you. But if you have a quirky, fussy non-traveler this isn't the one.
