I received this phone holder a few weeks ago. I tried to assemble it with my phone but I couldn't attach the magnet to the phone case which is made of heavily textured leather and I couldn't imagine attaching it directly to the phone. I ended up buying a new stylish case just for in-car use. Both cases make it easy to remove and replace your phone, although that would be cumbersome with a more durable case. Then I tried to find a place in my car to install it. Well, there's no place (Jeep Commander) to put a big round disc on the end of the bracket. All possible areas are too small and/or too narrow. Also, it's too textured and the mount won't stick to it, so I have to use an extra patch of glue to make it work. After looking around my car, I found a great place for it - a cup holder that's just the right size to attach to the bottom of the mount without glue. There the whole thing is very reliable and also easy to remove. Now that I've got all this set up, I want to jot down the things that I like. First, the position allows for easy line of sight access and also makes it easy to use the charger when I need to plug in my phone. Second, with the phone tilted properly, it doesn't obstruct anything on my dash or interfere with my gear changes. Because the cup holder (which I don't use) is low, the cables don't get in the way when charging. When I first looked at the diagram that came with the mount, I thought that part of the mount would remain attached to the phone, but that's not the case. The only thing permanently attached to the case is a flat rectangular magnet that doesn't interfere with use of the phone when removed from the mount. So I had to do a bit of fiddling to get it working, but I'm very happy with it.
