Goods just received, just bought for d-pads. The adhesive was easy enough to line up and stick the top and bottom D-Pad on the left joycon, once it's in the desired location just peel off the top. Each D-Pad has a black circle that needs to be pulled out and placed in the bottom center. Then make sure the arrow at the bottom of the d-pad is pointing up. Align the top cover of the directional pad with the top button and it should snap into place. The use of each dpad is different and convenient. I tested a number of fighting games, SF 30 collection, Power Rangers, Mk11, King of Fighters series, all inputs were accurate and fairly smooth, and it didn't matter which dpad I was using. Also used in Sonic Mania, Snipperclips (used from the side) and you can still feel each independent button press, Super Mario Bros 3 (sideways) and everything was fine. Dpads work well in action movies where you can swipe to create a fireball or an ice ball with Sub Zero. They also let you feel each independent button press, just like the original Switch Dpad. I didn't use colored buttons just because they don't have the letters A, B, Y, X. I like that everyone who uses my console knows which button is which. A bit disappointing but well, maybe they'll start adding letters, maybe they won't. Overall the Dpads are great and feel solid and smooth. I am very happy with them.
