This is the second set of red sink mats that I have purchased. The first sentence did not contain a "saddle". They have lasted for several years and have protected my white china sink well and the fine china I hand wash. I decided to replace them after they started getting moldy which was difficult to clean but until recently this wasn't a problem. I was pleased to purchase this second set which includes the 'saddle'. As other reviewers have pointed out, it doesn't fit in the center of the sink at all. What I did with mine is I installed it upside down behind the faucet and had a kitchen sponge and a flat rubber stopper for the sink in it. The saddle works great as a storage device for these items and keeps the sink area tidier. (So don't let the fact that it may not match your sink dissuade you.) The sink rugs are thick enough to protect my sink and dishes, and the color is bright and cheerful.
