Not sure what other reviewers were expecting from disposable chef gloves. They are just like any other disposable chef gloves I've seen. Anyone who says you don't have an opening for your hand either has a bad box or doesn't get it at all - no offense, I hope it was bad boxing. They're outrageously easy to open - just pinch your wrist and rub between your fingers - viola! immediate opening. They work like disposable gloves. They are waterproof and will remain so until water gets into them, meaning don't dip your hand into the wrist. I'm not sure why you would use these gloves for this purpose anyway - if you dip your hand enough to get water in the glove, your hand is contaminated and/or contaminating everything you're dealing with, so there are hardly any means to wear gloves. I would NOT recommend them for real gardening. Buy a good pair of gardening gloves. You could probably wear a pair of these UNDER fabric gardening gloves to take advantage of the fabric's durability with its waterproofing, but I think gardening gloves just slip off unless you tie them around your wrist with a rubber band. They make waterproof gardening gloves - just buy them. I can use them to transplant flowers into soft soil pots, but for something really labor intensive: no. We often use these gloves when cleaning rabbit litter boxes so our hands don't smell like rabbit urine all day. They had a lot of contact with the rough-hewn Timothy Hay and didn't break up.
