I was a little disappointed with the drying power of this particular dryer, but I didn’t have anything to compare it to horsepower wise. It’s nothing wrong with the dryer itself, it just isn’t very high velocity compared to what I used in a salon. This would work well for someone who either isn’t in a rush or has a dog with a thinner or shorter coat. However it works very well. I suggest using it in a well ventilated area so it doesn’t heat up. The motor area will get very hot if used in a smaller space (like a bathroom) after a little while. If it’s in the open it does fine and doesn’t feel too hot to the touch. The air coming out doesn’t get too hot though.
