Review on ๐Ÿ“ท Lenspen Sensorklear II with Articulated Tip (Model LENSK1A)" by Edward Taylor

Cheapest and most useful sensor cleaning product I own AND REUSABLE!

I wasn't thrilled to try this product on my D800E sensor, graphite and chafing on the sensor just rubbed me the wrong way. But the good reviews and the price made me give it a try. I've literally spent hundreds of dollars on sensor cleaners and can't believe the cheapest turned out to be the most useful. I noticed on my D800E that the residue from sensor cleaning fluids is clearly visible with Lightroom Visualize Spots. Function most noticeable when slider is at max. Eclipse and Smear-Away Fluids are also popular. It took me about 10 wet swabs at $3 each before realizing I was no longer cleaning the oily dirt on the sensor, but the residue left over from the previous swab. I never noticed that with my D100 and D700, but I didn't use Lightroom at the time either. First, I carefully checked the Sensorklear pen on one corner. I looked for graphite dust but couldn't find it. Then 2 ribs, then 2 more, then the rest of the sensor. WOW! I was able to clean with just 1 swab and use this pen to remove all residue. It also removes it easily in one go. No need to buy angled swabs, this pen is perfect for that. AND MULTIPLE USES :-) It's been in my cell about 40 times since I bought it. It worked just as well every time as it did the first time and left no residue. My only concern is that I'm not comfortable with the cleaning head laying flush (parallel) with the sensor, so I'll be cleaning with the entire triangular head rather than just preferring one side of it. This can mostly be due to the camera's cramped touch chamber, but the gimbal tip helps a lot in this regard. Great product, great price. And the icing on the cake is the fact that it's reusable.

Pros
  • Rugged finish
Cons
  • Minor issues
