If you know of an LED flashlight that keeps plants alive in a tropical aquarium, please leave a comment. This world doesn't exist. It's brighter than two T5 fluorescents, but the light quality for plants is nowhere near as good as the basic 8000K fluorescents that are no longer available. I have several of these lamps. The 20's barely keep my plants alive - they barely grow. 36 inches not. My plants are dying under its light. These bulbs are better than the old Finnex Ray factory lights and the new ones come with a nifty remote control. I turned off the blue light but the algae are still growing on it. I fertilize as always, but it's not enough for this light. Maybe there would be enough light if Finnex replaced the blue lights with another bank better suited for plants? Oh, and one more thing: I had to ditch the plastic legs for these lamps and replace them with a wire hanger. Simply cut the hanger in half, bend the two pieces into two metal sliders like the ones most other manufacturers supply with their lamps. Some of us still have lidded and canopied aquariums. Also, there are 36 on the 70-gallon uniquarium. Two 20's on a 60 ga die and a 20 on a 28 ga hex. I want them to work.
