If you want to extend the monitors, it is recommended to use the support bracket under the table. However, for my purposes everything is perfectly balanced when the arms are fully back. I got this because I wanted to elevate my monitors to relieve back and neck pain and free up desk space. Setup was easy and took about 10 minutes. I haven't had any problems with screw tightening or stripped screws as some have reported. Maybe I just got lucky, or maybe they improved the design, I don't know. You can see from the video I posted that it sits fairly firmly on my desk, the arms move easily to hold the position you left them in, and it easily switches between portrait and landscape can pan. I thought it was pretty obvious in the picture, but both monitors need to be the same height. A little more flexibility in that regard would be nice, and a heavier blade would be nice. My monitors are around 24 inches to give you an idea of the scaling in the photos.
