Although this is a budget flash it is a very good product. I got it for a good price and bought it as a backup. But now it has been the main block in most of my regular use. It is very powerful, versatile and ideal for bounce flash. UPDATE: November 20th, 2012 This unit is now almost unusable, or should I say DEAD. I am now reducing my rating from 5 stars to 1 star. Given its limited use, it's too soon to die from this outbreak. In fact, I haven't used this flash more than a few times since my early review. Meanwhile, she began to point out some issues. First, he lost proper control in automatic mode, or TTL. Sometimes he shot too hard and sometimes too weak, causing problems getting the correct exposure. I had to manually override the controls to ensure the light was right for every shot. Although it was frustrating to set it up manually, I was able to use it for my purposes. After that, the flash sometimes stopped working even though the battery indicator showed "ready". The recharge time has been reduced, but the flash did not fire when used. In burst mode, I've found that the flash fires at full power in just 3-5 clicks. The remaining clicks were accompanied by small flashes, although the flash was given enough time to fully charge and load new battery pairs. Another disappointment was that it never worked on the first click. So I've been missing the point with this flash ever since this problem started appearing. A few clicks on the camera to turn on the flash meant the light was too strong to overexpose the image at most normal settings. So the flash is now unusable. I've searched the internet if there is a way to solve this problem and I couldn't find any. Most people who have problems with Vivitar are advised to get rid of it. You can't fix anything yourself. I am giving up this flash, this company and going back to Nikon flashes. Vivitar is no more.
